Mini League / Little League / Development Squad


MINI LEAGUE / LITTLE LEAGUE

Mini League is played at half time of Sturt home games. Little League is played at half time of Crows and Power home games.

 

Player selection for Mini League or Little League is made initially from year 7 and then year 6. Selection is made from our metropolitan zone schools and our Hills Football League / RMFL clubs. Players rostered for Little League can't be selected for a Mini League game in that year.

2011 MINI LEAGUE DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

This squad is for the most advanced Year 7 and Year 6 players nominated and by INVITATION ONLY from both the Metropolitan zone (SASFA and ISSA) and the Country zone (the Hills and River Murray Football Leagues) of the Sturt Football Club.

The main aim of this squad is to provide players with further coaching over 9 weeks and assist with further development of their football skills. Training for the Mini League Development Squad will be held on Sunday mornings at Unley Oval commencing Sunday July 31st - 8.30am till 10.00am – up to and including Sunday September 25th.

The Sturt Mini-League Squad coaches (all Level 2 accredited and many years of coaching experience) are Mr. Greg Dennis, Mr. Gary Mutton, Mr. Kent Dredge and Mr. Colin Casey.

Following the Mini-League Development Squad initial four weeks the Coaches will be dividing the players into a Development Group and a Skill Development Group. These divisions are to specifically develop skills that need further work and will be continually revised during the following five weeks. Ultimately all Players will be striving to be selected in the Sturt Development Squads (Metro/Country) for 2012.
