Junior Footy 2008

2008 sees another active year of football development within the Sturt Football Club Promotional Zones. Steve Rechner, Football Development Manager (phone: 8271 4611) coordinates the Development Program and is assisted by Danijel Herbut, our Development Officer this year. Colin Casey – former club champion is the newly appointed Zone Coordinator for the Double Blues in both country and metropolitan zones. Tim McLeod is the Football Development Director on the Board of the Sturt Football Club. Details on each of our programs can be found below.

Both David Greenslade and Ray Billing head the two country groups that train once a week at the Imperial FC and Mt Barker FC ovals respectively. (RMFL – Mondays, HFL – Wednesdays)

David and Ray do a magnificent job in that role and are helping to give excellent coaching to our country zoned players. The boys are in the age groups of Under 15’s to Under 17’s predominantly.

On Sunday May 18th at House Brothers Oval there was a chance for the players to exhibit their skills in the Jake Watson Shield Match for Under 15’s & 2pm -The Ben Judd/Brett Lienert Shield for Under 17’s.

Both matches were the HFL v the RMFL. The HFL were victorious in both matches.

The HFL and RMFL Under 15 and 17 teams will also play Inter-League matches against other affiliated leagues on the Saturday of the June Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend.
